No Sacrifice

To You I give my life, not just the parts I want to
To You I sacrifice these dreams that I hold on to

Because
Your thoughts are higher than mine
Your words are deeper than mine
Your love is stronger than mine
This is no sacrifice
Here's my life

To You I give the gifts
Your love has given me
How can I hoard the treasures that You've designed for free?

To you I give my future
As long as it may last
To You I give my present
To You I give my past

Your thoughts are higher than mine
Your words are deeper than mine
Your love is stronger than mine
This is no sacrifice
Here's my life

Here's my life

Holy Savior

Holy Savior
Hallelujah
Sent down from heaven the best Christmas gift
Holy Savior
Hallelujah
You’ve been sent down that I might live

Holy, holy, holy!
Lord God Almighty!

untitled

I want to be humble like my Savior, my King. He reigns higher than any other king; His throne and His office are greater than all conceivable officials of mans fleeting time. He is, was, and will forever be the only one everyone has to answer to.

And even though He is the highest above, even though He is perfect, He still choose to leave his exalted throne above to be a dirty and disrespected human man. He was a mere baby. He was disregarded by Herod and by almost all leaders of that time. He went through the pains of being in the disgraceful human body. He was driven through with nails, beaten, spit upon and eventually mocked and killed.

Never has anyone gone from a higher position and by complete desire of himself thrust himself to as low a place. A king isn't supposed to live a life like that. He didn't have to go from the highest possible place out of the boundaries of time to the lowest conceivable state possible.

But, He did.

I want to be humble like my Savior, my King. I regard Him, now, as He has always been regarded; I realize now that He wasn't forced to come to earth nor was he defeated when He came to earth. No! Rather He, my Savior, has always been, will always be, and is presently the King of Kings who is in control of things our minds aren't capable of thinking.

He is the King, and I want to be humble like Him.

[falling upon the ground...]

Gentle friend
You knew my name
Yet with Your hand You calmed
the storm and healed the lame
As You spoke
People came
And as the crowds would gather 'round they called out
Holy One, are You the Holy One,
who was sent by God to show the way

I wasn't there
The night they came
Those who saw and feared the miracles you made
You took the nails
You bore the pain
And as they hung You on the cross and mocked you
Holy One, if You're the Holy One let
your God come save You from the grave

Early morn
Break of day
Came in time to find the rock You rolled away
I found Your robe
An empty grave
And as I fell upon the ground I cried out
Holy One, You are the Holy One,
and You came and gave Your life away

Holy One, You are the Holy One
and You came and gave Your life away

{I am the life, I am alive, I came to show the way}

Quoting A Quote And Creating A Quote (As Well As Some Cool Quotes)

This is where quoting a quote and creating a quote comes in:
"when manual becomes automatic" came from the quote "my car is automatic because manual has become automatic to me." (Or something close to that.) "When manual becomes automatic" sounds better though.

And Again

I was just reading my previous post again and it again encouraged me. I love how it just tells me to "Get wisdom!" Its a choice to presue wisdom and not the things of this world. Too many times I make the wrong choice, but this verse encourages me to make that right choice; the choice to "get wisdom."

"Hold on to instruction, do not let it go;
guard it well, for it is your life.
Do not set foot on the path of the wicked
or walk in the way of evil men.
Avoid it, do not travel on it;
turn from it and go on your way.
For they cannot sleep till they do evil;
they are robbed of slumber till they make someone fall.
They eat the bread of wickedness
and drink the wine of violence."

I must hold on to this instruction, it is my life! Which means turning from this instruction would be to my demise.

Wisdom is Supreme

This greatly encouraged me yesterday:

Wisdom Is Supreme

Listen, my sons, to a father's instruction;
pay attention and gain understanding.
I give you sound learning,
so do not forsake my teaching.
When I was a boy in my father's house,
still tender, and an only child of my mother,
he taught me and said,
"Lay hold of my words with all your heart;
keep my commands and you will live.
Get wisdom, get understanding;
do not forget my words or swerve from them.
Do not forsake wisdom, and she will protect you;
love her, and she will watch over you.
Wisdom is supreme; therefore get wisdom.
Though it cost all you have, get understanding.
Esteem her, and she will exalt you;
embrace her, and she will honor you.
She will set a garland of grace on your head
and present you with a crown of splendor."
Listen, my son, accept what I say,
and the years of your life will be many.
I guide you in the way of wisdom
and lead you along straight paths.
When you walk, your steps will not be hampered;
when you run, you will not stumble.
Hold on to instruction, do not let it go;
guard it well, for it is your life.
Do not set foot on the path of the wicked
or walk in the way of evil men.
Avoid it, do not travel on it;
turn from it and go on your way.
For they cannot sleep till they do evil;
they are robbed of slumber till they make someone fall.
They eat the bread of wickedness
and drink the wine of violence.

The path of the righteous is like the first gleam of dawn,
shining ever brighter till the full light of day.
But the way of the wicked is like deep darkness;
they do not know what makes them stumble.

My son, pay attention to what I say;
listen closely to my words.
Do not let them out of your sight,
keep them within your heart;
for they are life to those who find them
and health to a man's whole body.
Above all else, guard your heart,
for it is the wellspring of life.
Put away perversity from your mouth;
keep corrupt talk far from your lips.
Let your eyes look straight ahead,
fix your gaze directly before you.
Make level paths for your feet
and take only ways that are firm.
Do not swerve to the right or the left;
keep your foot from evil

Words And More

I’m so thirsty, I can feel it
Burning through the furthest corners of my soul
Deep desire, can’t describe this
Nameless urge that drives me somewhere
Though I don’t know where to go

Seems I’ve heard about a River from someone who’s been
And they tell me once you reach it, oh, you’ll never thirst again
So I have to find the River, somehow my life depends on the River
Holy River, I’m so thirsty

Other waters I’ve been drinking
But they always leave me empty like before
Satisfaction, all I’m asking
Could I really feel this thirsty if there weren’t something more?

And I’ve heard about a River from someone who’s been
And they tell me once you reach it, oh, you’ll never thirst again
So I have to find the River, somehow my life depends on the River
Holy River, I’m so thirsty

I’m on the shore now of the wildest River
And I kneel and beg for mercy from the sky
But no one answers, I’ve gotta take my chances
‘Cause something deep inside me’s crying
"This is why you are alive!"

So I plunge into the River with all that I am
Praying this will be the River where I’ll never thirst again
I’m abandoned to the River
And now my life depends on the River
Holy River, I’m so thirsty
